Passing Of Mrs. Martha Angus
The passing of Mrs. Martha Amelia Angus occurred at the home of her eldest daughter in Angusville district on June 26 at 11 p m after years of ill health. Born May 28 1880 she was the daughter of Henry King of Middlechurch Manitoba. She married William James Angus in 1898 and farmed on the home farm. he preceded her in November 1947. She leaves five daughters three sons twenty grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Funeral was held June 30 in Silverton Hall with large attendance. interment in Silver Creek cemetery.

Uncommon reptile found on local farm
A farmer near town, about two weeks ago, found an unusual local reptile in a pasture near a slough. The turtle weighed about 5 or 6 pounds and measured roughly 12 inches in length. The sighting occurred three miles north and one mile east of town on Matt Zosiak's land.

The regular meeting of the W. I. was held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday July 2 in the church annex with 11 members and 1 visitor. Plans were made for serving lunches on Fair day and reports came from the District Convention at Foxwaf fen by Mrs. Viola Stitt and Mrs. Anne McIntosh. Mrs. Mabel Armstrong gave a report on the provincial convention in Winnipeg in June. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Lunch was served by hostesses Mrs. Agnes Taylor Mrs. Lil Johnson and Mrs. Viola Stitt.

Funeral rites for Mrs Nellie Hasiuk in Rossburn and Winnipeg
Mrs Nellie Hasiuk aged 82 died in Winnipeg on June 30 1958 after living on a Rossburn farm with her husband Mathew who predeceased her in 1938. Surviving are two sons Michael and Roy, three daughters, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Winnipeg and Rossburn Ukrain ian Catholic churches with burial at Rossburn Ukrainian Cemetery. Pallbearers included Manley Karmazenuk Ernest Hasiuk Harry and Mike Werbowski Frank and Mike Dutkiewich.

Rural Council Meeting at Rossburn Recessed to August 9
Rural Municipality of Rossburn held its regular monthly session on Tuesday July 8 with Reeve Ed Shust presiding and all councillors present. Minutes from June were approved along with the financial report. A slaughterhouse license renewal was approved. By law and agreement with Manitoba Power Commission for Marco street lights renewal was approved. Municipal Aid application approved. A Court of Revision of Electors Lists for 1958 was held. Bills were paid and meeting adjourned to reconvene August 9.

Lillian Kaban married Ernie Charney in a July 3 ceremony at the Ukrainian Catholic Church. The bride wore a long white gown with designs while the groom dressed in a black suit. Bridesmaids in pink and blue gowns wore feather bands. a white flower girl attended. A reception at the Ukrainian National Home followed with multiple wedding cakes and many gifts.
