Rossburn Council Meets July 3 1954 Approves Reports
The R. M. of Rossburn council met in the council chambers with all members present. Minutes of prior meetings were read and confirmed. A financial report and the extension course report were adopted. Dr Krywulak named Health Officer for 1954. A livestock Bangs disease vaccination resolution passed. Secretary-Treasurer to take holidays July 14–28. Road machine 100 hours per ward approved due to bad weather. Vouchers paid. Next meeting set for August 7 at 1 PM.

Shoal Lake area 4-H members excel at Brandon events in beef judging swine judging and tractor contests. Carman Falloon of Birtle Calf Club won beef judging while Bill Preston and Duane Bailey placed second and fourth. Greening led the senior group in the Brandon Camp judges. Percy Chegwin Lyall Brown won swine judging to reach Winnipeg finals. Ross Short Delmar Purdy placed fourth in beef. Don Findlay Howie Hamilton Shoal Lake team placed third in tractors.

Talented Libby Family Bands At Pentecostal Church
A Pentecostal Church audience filled the house last Thursday to hear the Guy Libby family of nine perform a musical program from El Monte California. The lineup included a string orchestra with guitars mandolins ukuleles banjo and piano, plus a brass band trio mixed trio male quartet and a dois. A notable moment featured a member playing two trumpets simultaneously and delivering an address. Personal testimonies came from each band member.
