Swann Couple Revamps People's Store In Rossburn
Bert and Kathy Swann took possession of the People's Store in Rossburn on June 16 and plan an ice cream parlor and snack bar along with groceries. They will display Manitoba antiques and sell handmade items while preserving the store name and history.

Manitoba grants aid agricultural societies for upgrades
The province will provide 94500 dollars to 48 Manitoba agricultural societies to improve buildings and grounds this year. Agriculture Minister Harry J. Enns says the funds help fairs and exhibitions and support agricultural awareness programs. Improvements target livestock exhibits grand stands outdoor stages and display buildings. These societies educate on livestock crops horticulture and home living skills as rural communities mark their centenaries.
