That Dog Problem Again

Flin Flon Museum Opens to Public in 1975 Ceremony

Recreation Report Highlights Canoe Clinic and Camps
Fourteen participants joined a Rossman Lake canoe clinic with an instruction session and a lake trip to the Boy Scouts camp ground ending with a wiener roast. Minor wind-related issues occurred but were resolved. Rossburn Merchants lost both games in a Leech Lake fastball tournament while Sandy Lake split a double header at Rossburn. Summer Playground Program for 4-8 year olds starts July 7, running to August 22 or 23, with registration 10 AM to noon each Monday. Camp Manitou hosts an August session for 8-16 year olds, cap 165 but only 20-25 spots for Parkland region attendees. $8 per child plus transport, sign up in the office.

Rossburn Minor Baseball Teams Crowned for League Play
In Rossburn on Saturday June 30 the Midget Bantam and Mosquito teams competed in league championships at Hamiota. Midgets beat Neepawa 24 17 but lost 13 2 to Minnedosa. Mosquitoes won 9 8 over Hamiota and fell 18 12 to Minnedosa. Bantams lost 10 9 in extra innings to Oak River.

Weather Report Warm Humid With Severe Thunderstorms
Weather has been warm and very humid since mid June. Thunder showers, including a Sunday supper time storm, caused hail damage to gardens in the north end of town and to crops in adjacent areas west north and northeast as the storm moved southwest to northeast. Rain gauges show more rainfall in the north end of Rossburn than the south side. Period last year recorded high 89.
