The Rossburn United Church held its annual meeting on January 23 with Pastor W. B. Eaton presiding. Financials show 1949 balance 44.80 and 1950 receipts 1,273.00, expenses 135.00 local, minister salary 1,200.00. funds sent include 160.00 to M and M Fund and 50.00 to Flood Relief. Various reports list memberships, receipts and balances for Ladies' Aid, Junior Ladies' Aid, Sunday School, WM S, Mission Band, and Young People. ministerial activity notes include one baptism and one wedding. Board appointments added new director R. N. Hutton and terms for Cormack, Taylor, Duncanson, Stitt, Stitt, and others. Sunday School elected Gordon Taylor as Superintendent.
Rossburn hosts the annual event starting tomorrow with 21 rinks entered. Entry fees are 1.50 for non members and 75 cents for members. Three competitions are offered the Red Cross Merchants and Consolation with prizes in each. ENDs limited games and time penalties apply. First draw at 9 am and last at 10 30 pm with lunch available.
The Ninth Decennial Census of Canada in June is justified by constitutional law from Confederation. Section 51 of the British North America Act 1867 directs post census representation readjustment by Parliament with rules, notably a fixed Quebec quota.

Presentation to follow. Graves is son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Graves of Kenora and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Armstrong of Rossburn.
Regular meeting of Branch 40 of the B E S L in Legion Hall Tuesday February 6 at 8 pm. Election of officers for 1951 and plans for future activities. All comrades urged to attend.
Members of the Rossburn Local of the Manitoba Farmers Union report steady membership growth reaching 164 in Secretary’s hands and 10 to 12 more with the Board. A general meeting is set for February 7 1951 at 8:00 p.m. in the Rossburn Town Hall to present a full convention report.
