February is Heart Month in Oakburn Fund Drive
February is Heart Month as volunteers from the Oakburn Home 4-H Club led by Mrs. Bill Yarish appeal for funds to combat heart disease and stroke. Last year Oakburn residents donated 620 dollars, and the Manitoba Heart Foundation hopes to raise 1 031 000 to support research and education.

Board approves staff and transport changes in December actions
The board accepted proposals from Pelly and reported on transport tenders for Rossburn to Russell. Tenders by Morley Kostecky were accepted and bus contractor rates set to rise in September 1982. An in camera session approved suspensions, compassionate leave, special leave for a broken down car, and revised salary proposals. A regional meeting was planned for January 19 with representatives named to meet the minister on February 2. Next meeting January 25 at 1 PM.

Beef Club Christmas Party and Films at Elementary School
The 4H Beef and Pony Club held a Christmas Party on December 11, 1981 at 7:00 P.M. in the Elementary School. Mr. Olyarnyk showed three films on farm safety and grooming. Members exchanged gifts, had lunch, and discussed a bottle drive to support Project Hospital. The next meeting is February 10 at 7:00 P.M. at the school.
