Wm Kachan wishes a speedy recovery and is in Rossburn hospital as friends send regards. Various residents visit relatives in Anton Wladyka Winnipeg and Quill Lake area. Several locals attend a mother’s funeral in the district and others plan trips to Winnipeg for events. weekend visits noted among Collin, Crookshanks, Cleland, Carson, Huston, Elvers, Miller, Alexander and Klym families.
Ritchie McIntyre, an employee at Hudson's Bay Store on MacKenzie Island, is in Rossburn hospital following an appendectomy. Friends wishing him a speedy recovery. Miss Margaret McLennan of Russell spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs T H Alexander.
Joe Mitchell, who had been in Winnipeg receiving medical treatment, returned to Rossburn on Sunday.
The Rossburn Salvage Committee met Friday to close a $40.75 bank balance and present it to the Legion. Funds will cover cleaning and relettering the monument, moving it to Town Hall Grounds, and engraving the names of the last war sacrifice on a scroll beside the first war victims.
Mrs W J Hamilton returned home after visiting her daughter and son in law Alan Smith of McNut Sask. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Myts on the birth of a daughter January 1. Vista Ladies held a card party at Mrs Harve Hamilton’s home. first prize to Mrs Jerry Brown and last to Miss Vera Hamilton. The annual School Meeting was held January 15 with A MacPhail elected as trustee.
A dance sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Brown drew a large crowd and was described as a huge success. Attendees reported a good time, while well wishes were offered to Mr. Wilfred Chegwin who is ill and hoping for a speedy recovery.
Death relieved suffering on Thursday January fifteenth for Mrs. W A Clabley aged sixty two years eight months born in Wirwick England she came to Cranwell in 1911 married the same year survivors include husband W A Crubley two sons Morris and Norman and brother in England funeral held at United church with Rev Nixon and Rev Mack pallbearers listed interment at Birtle cemetery

Business visitor Nick Magnoski in Winnipeg last week. Michael Kukura spent a week with his mother at Solsgirth and returned to Angusville on Tuesday Jan 13. Pete Chipelski and Gladys Zebro sky plan a wedding January 21 with a reception at the Ukrainian hall in Angusville. John Woroneski celebrates birth of a son in Victoria B C January 14 1948. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs George Onchulenko in Fort William December 28 1947 on a daughter.
Mrs. Wm Collins a long time Rossburn resident died at age 91 on January 14. Born in Cornwallis Ontario she spent 65 years in the district leaving a husband, three daughters and six sons, nine great grandchildren and eighteen grandchildren. Funeral was held Saturday at United Church with Rev M Nixon and Rev Mack officiating. Pallbearers included L Duncanson R Peden H Carson G Taylor M D Hamilton and J Strong. Burial was at Rossburn Cemetery.

Mrs John Bereza travels to Quebec to visit her daughter and son in law. Miss Sonia Komber returns home after working at Oakburn. Mike Kazan leaves for Winnipeg on business. John and Mildred Baydock return to Poplarfield Manitoba for Christmas. Several district visitors gather for Ukrainian Christmas celebrations.
In memoriam for our mother and grandma Elizabeth Harrison who died one year ago January 21 1947. She left a world of pain for the land of Peace and Rest God took you and you have eternal rest. I miss you and I lost my dearest friend. Ever remembered by Cora Art and Marlene Fraser.
