Wm Kachan wishes a speedy recovery and is in Rossburn hospital as friends send regards. Various residents visit relatives in Anton Wladyka Winnipeg and Quill Lake area. Several locals attend a mother’s funeral in the district and others plan trips to Winnipeg for events. weekend visits noted among Collin, Crookshanks, Cleland, Carson, Huston, Elvers, Miller, Alexander and Klym families.

Local Resident Ritchie McIntyre Recovering After Appendectomy

Ritchie McIntyre, an employee at Hudson's Bay Store on MacKenzie Island, is in Rossburn hospital following an appendectomy. Friends wishing him a speedy recovery. Miss Margaret McLennan of Russell spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs T H Alexander.

Joe Mitchell Returns to Rossburn From Winnipeg Treatment

Joe Mitchell, who had been in Winnipeg receiving medical treatment, returned to Rossburn on Sunday.

Salvage Committee to Close Account for Monument Work

The Rossburn Salvage Committee met Friday to close a $40.75 bank balance and present it to the Legion. Funds will cover cleaning and relettering the monument, moving it to Town Hall Grounds, and engraving the names of the last war sacrifice on a scroll beside the first war victims.

Mrs W J Hamilton returned home after visiting her daughter and son in law Alan Smith of McNut Sask. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Myts on the birth of a daughter January 1. Vista Ladies held a card party at Mrs Harve Hamilton’s home. first prize to Mrs Jerry Brown and last to Miss Vera Hamilton. The annual School Meeting was held January 15 with A MacPhail elected as trustee.

Mrs Wm Collins Dies After Long Rossburn Life

Mrs. Wm Collins a long time Rossburn resident died at age 91 on January 14. Born in Cornwallis Ontario she spent 65 years in the district leaving a husband, three daughters and six sons, nine great grandchildren and eighteen grandchildren. Funeral was held Saturday at United Church with Rev M Nixon and Rev Mack officiating. Pallbearers included L Duncanson R Peden H Carson G Taylor M D Hamilton and J Strong. Burial was at Rossburn Cemetery.
