Pelly Trail plans public meetings in Oakburn and Rossburn
Pelly Trail School Division No. 37 held its Dec 14 1987 meeting with all trustees but one. The board approved public meetings in Oakburn and Rossburn to inform about Major Pratt and Central School Projects, reaffirming support for Oakburn and Elphinstone. It approved cheques 7652 7906 for 443 993.27 and a 200 donation to Zone 10 Athletic Association. Gordon Nixon named principal of Rossburn Collegiate, starting Jan 4 1988. Binscarth Junior High to receive Terry Fox Earl Dawson Award for top Grade 7-9 fundraiser. letters of congratulations planned. Pending meeting dates include Jan 18 1:00 pm and 7:30 pm in Oakburn, Jan 25 7:30 pm in Rossburn, Feb 8 1:00 pm and Feb 29 1:00 pm with Roy White invited. Board accepted custodial duties change at Inglis School.

Manitoba seniors services group forms in 16 communities
Progress toward a regional organization to aid seniors and disabled people to live independently advances. Sixteen Manitoba communities have formed or nearly formed boards with representation from churches service clubs seniors drop in centres R M and Town Councils and organizations. The next meeting February 3 1988 at 1 30 p m Rossburn Town Hall bar room will finalize the board with John Svenson from the Department of Health attending.

Rossburn council approves tax prepayment discount bylaw
Regular meeting on Jan 11 presided by Reeve John Mitchell saw Council pass Bylaw 1184 offering a discount for prepayment of taxes after three readings. Subdivision actions were approved unconditionally for 10.6 acres and 26.3 acres with hearings held and no objections. The 1989 Board of Revision and tax sale date were set for Nov 10, 1988. Manitoba Health Services Commission grant applied for ambulance service. 1988 memberships and $25 donations to listed organizations approved.
