Former Citizen Buried At Grandview
Last rites for Mr. Mike Hubinsky age 64 were held at Grandview on Sunday January 14 after he died in Prince George B C. Rev Horbay Roblin officiated and interment was in Grandview cemetery. Survived by wife five sons Alex Terry Carl Russell Stanley and four daughters Anne Drul Strathclair J Ja Grandview Elsie Marie. A large funeral attendance from Rossburn Oakburn Strathclair and Marco.

An estimated 275 attended a Manitoba Farmer's Union meeting at Town Hall on January 10, with 132 signing up that night. Bert Mitchell chaired. J Schulz and K R McBain spoke on farm incomes and collective action, stressing the union’s independence and goal of uniting farmers for better conditions. Executive officers and plans for Jan 20 and a Prairie convention Jan 31 to Feb 2 were announced alongside local branch activity in Angusville.

Weed Control Experiments Planned For Coming Year
Manitoba plans coordinated weed control measures and experiments for 1951 using 2 4 D and other chemicals. The meeting at the Legislative Building Winnipeg was chaired by H E Wood with H A Craig as secretary. Attendees included 38 weed control workers from the University of Manitoba Dominion and Provincial governments and private groups. Reports outlined proposed experimental work and eight committees were formed to study cooperative university station efforts.

Manitoba reports 1950 sets all time production value above 525 million dollars with 43 000 manufacturing jobs and about 90 million in payrolls. Thirty six new industries started, 24 percent expanded plants, over 240 firms added equipment, and rural industrial growth gains momentum. Outlook for 1951 remains favorable with continued production.

Winter Storm Delays Roads and Curling Events At Binscarth
Heavy winds and drifting snow paralyze area roads Tuesday with detours through fields near Oakburn and lingering conditions along Vista to Oakburn and Sandy Lake. Walter Armstrong plays for his son George at Binscarth. Mr McIntosh, 92, in Regina, reports good health and ongoing interest in the Review with a $2.00 donation for 1951.
