Pelly Trail School Board hires two teachers
The December 22 1980 Pelly Trail School Division meeting approved hiring Steve Sullivan to teach at Elphinstone Collegiate and Pat Jackson to teach at Inglis School. Marlene Low was approved as Resource Teacher at Binscarth Elementary pending department approval.

Rich Sioux Sinnock site yields 6000 artifacts in Manitoba find
Archeologist Dr. A P Buchner and Cultural Affairs Minister Norma Price inspect arrow heads and artifacts from the Sinnock archeological site north of Lac du Bonnet. The recovery shows about 6,000 artifacts, marking it as one of the decade’s richest finds in Manitoba with evidence of human activity dating back 8,000 years.

Lorrie Luhowy joins Rossburn Hospital as Office and Medical Records staff while Bertha James becomes LPN. Congratulations to Pat and Bruce Munro on their January 3, 1981 wedding and to Karen Bauer and Blain Bauer on the birth of son Mark in July 1980. The library expands for cassette tapes and a cassette recorder aids education. Minor ER renovations improve space and free up the X ray room. Gratitude expressed for community holiday support and Calvert's Pharmacy established by Mr. and Mrs. P. Calvert, serving hospital needs.
