Rossburn Rural Council appoints 1960 officers and plans
The Rossburn Rural Municipality council met January 5 1960 with all members present and approved By Law No 843 naming secretary treasurer assessor municipal provincial assessor solicitor health officer and ward officers. They set road duties, appointed arbiters and discussed grants and snow plowing with District and provincial officials planned. The meeting adjourned to February 9 1960.

The Rossburn Women's Institute met January 5 at the United Church Annex with vice-president Mrs E Langridge presiding. Two members were named for a district Training School sponsored by Extension Service led by the district home economist offering Outdoor Living Clothing and Interior Design. The group continues the March of Dimes drives and plans for February 1 with Dr J Layng as guest speaker.

Vista W A Holds Annual Meeting
The Vista W A held its annual meeting at Mrs. Margaret Miller's home on January 6 1960. Despite seven members the group remained active donating 100 to the church board and gifts to the Bible Society Osborne Home and Children's Aid Society. They bought towels for the hospital sent a Christmas hamper flowers and fruit to the sick and shut ins and sympathy recipients. They funded a life W M S membership for missions and paid the church hydro bill. Two members volunteered to keep the church clean for services. A member received a 25 year pin and four delegates attended the Regional Convention at Foxwarren. Officers for the coming year were named: Pres Mrs Wm Stitt VP Mrs Art Chesney Sec Treas Mrs Harvey Hamilton Press Sec Mrs Art Chesney with Mrs Miller assisting.

Hamiltons celebrate 50th wedding anniversary in Winnipeg
Mr and Mrs Daniel D Hamilton of 367 Beaverbrook St marked their 50th anniversary last Tuesday. He born in Rossburn Manitoba, she born in Gorrie Ontario. Married January 5 1910 in Rossburn they lived in Kenora before moving to Winnipeg in 1944. He retired from CPR in 1948 and both belong to CPR Retired Employees Association. She belongs to the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. They have five children and nine grandchildren with two daughters in Cranbrook and Kelowna as noted.
