Rossburn minor teams have trained twice weekly and played at least one game weekly. The 10 and under led by Bob Lonsberry lost to Russell and Binscarth but showed fight. the 12 and under coached by Ron Lamabe were defeated in Binsearth and Roblin. The 14 and riding squad, led by John Mitchell and Laverne Cloud, suffered defeats at Binscarth and Russell here, then earned a 4 3 win at Roblin on January 6 to claim their first victory and tickets are on sale to raise operating funds.

Manitoba recreation grants total 416 thousand for 29 communities
Tour ism, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Minister Laurent L. Desjardins announced capital cost sharing grants totalling 416 346 dollars to 29 Manitoba communities for recreation facilities. This third and final lottery allocation brings total funding to 986 109 dollars across 91 communities. Final grant eligibility requires project completion by March 31, 1974. One approved project is in Shoal Lake RM for 15 000 dollars to build a curling and skating arena at Oakburn.

Birtle Wins Trophy In Rossburn Lions Hockey Tourney

Birtle beat Rossburn 4-3 in an opening thriller and later defeated Stathclair 5-3 to claim $100 first prize and the trophy. Angusville Flyers crushed Rossburn 14-1 while Strathelair erupted for four goals in a 9-6 win over Angusville. The tournament featured tight games and strong fan support with praise for organizers.
