Manitoba Hydro rate increase set for April first
Manitoba Hydro will raise electricity rates on April 1 pushing revenues up about 5 percent. Chair Marc Eliesen says Manitoba maintains the lowest rate structure in Canada and the move, with government concurrence, aims to boost net revenues to 9.9 million for the year ending March 31, 1986. A slight $1.35 monthly rise is anticipated for a typical residential customer using 700 kWh.
