Rossburn Regional Library Established
The Village and R. M. of Rossburn establish a Rossburn Regional Library to be housed in the Town Hall at the Parkland Depot. A Library Board elected Irene Tarasychuk as chair and Lorna Veitch as secretary on December 9 1974. Other members include Zelma Salyn Wally Peleshok Les Andrew and Harold Slow. Rose Stefanuk selected as Librarian. Hours to be revised to meet demand. A children’s story time is planned to boost youth interest.

Angusville Beats Hornets Twice In North Central Hockey League
Angusville Flyers defeated Rossburn Hornets 6-2 in a N C H L game at Rossburn on Saturday. Angusville led 3-0 after the first period, traded goals in the second, and scored the only goal of the third. Penalties ran high with eighteen called. Earlier Angusville crushed the Hornets 14-7 at Angusville, leading 5-0 after one period and 11-3 after two. The Hornets outscored 43- final period. penalties: Rossburn 23, Angusville 14. Senior Citizens Enjoy Variety of Entertainment
The Sumk group from Oakburn presented a 2:30 p.m. program at Shoal Lake Care Home and Senior Citizens Home on Saturday December 21 under Mae Chwaluk. Nine items featured older members including Darcy Slon Diane Matiowsky Karen Lucyshen Joan Chwaluk Evangeline Bucklaschuk Nick Starenky William Swistun Laurence Shwaluk with English and Ukrainian carols solos and dances. About sixty attendees said the show was too short and asked for a return visit.

Winter Games Medals For Team Members
Parkland Region sent 130 athletes and coaches to Winnipeg for Manitoba Games Centennial. Close Win For McAuley 5-4
McAuley rallied to a 5-4 NC HL win over Rossburn on December 23. Rossburn led 3-1 after the first period and 4-2 after two, then McAuley scored three unanswered in the third, the winner with under two minutes left. Bob Davidson had three goals for McAuley while Jim Procyk and Larry Huston each scored twice for Rossburn.

Hornets Win Lions Trophy In Intermediate Hockey Tourney
Rossburn Hornets captured the Lions Club sponsored intermediate hockey tournament on December 29, defeating Angusville 4-3 in the opener and later beating Birtle 3-2 to reach the final. Angusville upset Birtle 9-6 to claim second prize in a round robin format with over 700 fans in attendance.
