Rossburns Fire Extinguisher Venture and Early Industry
Rossburn Histories Club notes a 1913 14 push to publish local history and recalls the New Departure Manufacturing Co of Canada planning to set up fire extinguisher production in Rossburn in 1914. The project promised jobs but soon faded while residents praised the device after a 1914 fire. Walter Johnston is linked to an early extinguisher invention.
