Rossburn meeting denies plans to close area hospitals
On February 19 residents packed Rossburn Community Hall as officials from the Village of Rossburn Rural Municipality of Rossburn and Waywayseecappo First Nations Council heard from Manitoba Health about health reform. Helmut Friesen stated the government has no plans to close rural hospitals and emphasized wide policy changes to improve health across sectors. Chief Murray Clearsky signaled potential protests to keep Rossburn Hospital open while discussing health care spending and access in Manitoba and Canada.
