Recreation Council Leadership Training Class

Town Hall hosted a week of leadership training by Mr. Mart M. Devenney for 16 plus participants from six to ninety six. The sessions emphasized using existing facilities and improvised equipment to run a year round recreation program and to spark a Community Council formation with a meeting on March 4.

Vista residents update on events and births

Mr and Mrs Pete Stankie traveled to Winnipeg for medical treatment. Mr Lorne Hrysak is hospitalized. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Jack Miller on the birth of a son. Vista ice carnival crowned Miss Viola Hamilton with Gwen Hullick and Sylvia Mackenski as princesses. Dance by Dunc's Orchestra on Feb 25.

Oakburn Carnival Honors Skaters at Open Air Rink

The Oakburn Carnival was held Friday at the local open air skating rink with prizes awarded for costume and racing events. Marie Mychaiyshyn was crowned carnival queen with Zetta Black and Rose Zur twk as princesses.

A well attended event featured Billy Matiation and his Prairie Pals providing music at the Aknian National Home after a carnival. Ziggy Zapski won the valuable prize drawn, and proceeds from the evening totaled about $300.
