Secondary School Area Meetings Set for March 3 and 4
A Department of Education representative will attend at least four meetings in the district on March 3 and 4 to discuss the proposed secondary area. Tentative plans include afternoon sessions at Valley and Ruska Rawa schools and evening meetings at Vista and Rossburn. Further publicity will follow.

Farmers Meeting in Rossburn Town Hall
A Rossburn Agricultural Society meeting for farmers will be held at the Rossburn Town Hall on Wednesday March 2 at 8 p m. Extension Service speaker Dave Dewan will discuss silage making and loose housing and show slides. Shoal Lake agricultural representative Welland Stonehouse will also attend. Farmers with interest in farm problems are invited.

Angusville Defeats Rossburn 16 and Under Club 3-2
The Rossburn 16 and under club traveled to Angusville on Tuesday evening and lost 3-2. Rossburn scorers were Wray Palmer Allan Boychuk and La verne Clubley. Also note motorists must apply for Auto and Truck Licenses by February 28 to avoid prosecution locally licenses are available through Allan Elvers.

Successful Ladies Bonspiel at Rossburn rinks 9 contested
The Ladies Bonspiel at Rossburn drew nine rinks with a grand challenge group led by Mrs. A Schwalm and Miss S Bennett among others. Standouts included Mrs Viola Stitt, Mrs Lind say, and Mrs Langridge in fourth place. A list of participants and non prize winners followed as did a Hospital Aid booth netting 17 dollars and 15 cents.

District 3 MFA Board Meets at Strathlair
The District 3 MFA C board met at Strathlair on Saturday Feb 19 with 12 members and the district youth director present. D A McNabb presided. Attendance at the Crawford Park leadership school was expected to be large and open to promising youth aged 18 to 30. Roy Gamey reported the youth progress noting a full time caretaker to be hired soon. M J Sotas updated on the Western agricultural conference and CFA meeting plans. The amalgamating committee progress and differing views were discussed. A protest against telephone rate increases was passed. Attendees from the western District 3 included Vida Butler Jean Plant M J Sotas and W J Shwaluke.

Tom Thumb Hockey exhibition thrills fans in Portage tourney
Portage la Prairie visitors dominated Rossburn and Decker with decisive scores in a town event. Shoal Lake upset Decker 3-2, then beat Rossburn 3-2 as Krysowaty and Shields led Shoal Lake with three and two goals respectively. Portage defeated Decker 6-1 and 12-2 in successive games, with L Harrison and D Harrison leading scoring, while Kowal and Huston scored for Rossburn. Portage extended a prior 17 game win streak. players were billeted with Rossburn families and weather turned blustery on return.

Local Farmer To Attend Short Course
Dan Kiez will attend a Short Course in field crops at the University of Manitoba from February 28 to March 4. He placed second in the local crop improvement club scoring. The Manitoba Pool Elevators sponsors the course for cereal and forage crop growers. Winners in each crop district receive a summer lakehead trip. This year Crop District No 7 winner is Steve Zatylny of Sandy Lake. H Huston had the highest Rossburn Club score and placed seventh in the district.
