Forage Seed Program Opens in Shoal Lake

Grand Challenge final saw Nick Kalyniuk’s rink defeat Ray Cameron’s. team members included Paul Mamalaygo Elaine Ukrainetz and Terry Kohuch.

The 4-H Poultry clubs across Manitoba, supervised by the Extension Service and agriculture department, highlighted educational tours and community activities. Clubs from Crawford Park to Cypress River posted 775 points or more as Excellent, while Carman Riverside Souris and Zbruch scored over 600 as Good. Six clubs rated Fair, with efforts focusing on public speaking, local events, and improving poultry quality.

Mr Funk the district School Inspector visited Islay last week. Pupils enjoy hot lunches daily. Miss Betty Miller is on the sick list. Miss Eileen Miller began French, Composition, Grammar and Mathematics. A Senior Room Checker Tournament is planned for Recess. On Friday afternoon February 12 each room held a Valentine party with the Senior Room playing games and the Junior Room entertaining the younger children from the Village and district.
