Rossburn seniors beat visiting Lizard Point reserves 8 4 on February 12 in a fast hard checking game. Dan Mentuck scored for the Indians, but Rossburn’s Chesney and Lindsay led the locals with multiple goals as both teams traded chances and showcased sportsmanship. Bantams and Pee Wees lose both home and away contests to Birtle squads. On Birtle ice the 12 and unders were outpaced and outworked, with Bob Stitt in goal and Harold Slow on defense offering rare resistance. Bantam B B's fall 8-3 to the Birtle 15 and under, while the 12 and unders again lost 8-3 at home, and 4-1 in the second Birtle contest. Barley Champ To Be Picked March 12-13
Canada's interprovincial barley champion for 1952 will be picked in a final round of judging at Winnipeg March 12-13. A panel of four judges will select provincial and regional winners in Manitoba, with 225 to 250 entries expected. The three Manitoba provincial winners and three from Alberta will be finalists for the $500 inter provincial award. Manitoba growers have 512 entries in the 1952 contest, with 581 from Alberta, totaling 1,093. Carload shipments have been halted by transport controls, so samples may be drawn from farms if embargo persists.

Eight rinks competed in the 4-H Club Bonspiel at Rossburn on Saturday with participants from Selsgirhth Foxwarren Shoal Lake and Rossburn. John Williamson with Doug Joiner Stewart and Hazel Chegwin won first in the Grand Challenge. Allan Hay Lyle Simms Billy Talbot and Matt Smith of Foxwarren took second. The Selsgirth rink John Pickup Elmer Workman George Pickup and Victor Hodkinson won Consolation first with Ross Short's Shoal Lake rink taking second.
