Manitoba launches two big game feeding programs
Natural Resources Minister Jack Penner announced an Emergency Feeding Program in southern and western Manitoba to feed deer and elk and a Shortstop Feeding program to protect stored hay from wildlife. The total cost may reach 400 000 dollars. Winter conditions and drought reduced forage, with heavy early snow worsening feeding.

Trustees to be honored at Manitoba convention
The 1989 Manitoba Association of School Trustees convention will present the first long service awards for school trustees in March. Four area trustees are named for 20 or more years on boards: Paul Michalyshyn and Ralph Tibbatts from Pelly Trail School Division, and Kenneth Rapley and Gordon M. Waddell from Birdtail River School Division.

Rossburn Council approves 25 year service note and budget
The Rossburn Village council met on Wednesday January 25 presided by Mayor Morley Kostecky. The meeting approved a 100.00 1989 Tourism Manitoba Parkland Region membership fee and authorized payment. Douglas Joiner is to be recognized for 25 years of municipal service. The budget of 5017.00 for the Rossburn Regional Library was approved. Four 75th mugs are donated to Rossburn Elementary School Bonspiel. Council members and staff attendances at seminars and travel expenses were authorized.
