Monitoring black bears in Riding Mountain National Park
Manitoba Natural Resources and Parks Canada jointly study the movements of black bears around Riding Mountain National Park. Since starting almost two years ago, 35 bears have been fitted with radio collars. When collars fail or batteries die, researchers tranquilize the bear, locate the den, replace the collar, and reopen the den.

Manitoba shifts land transfer tax to curb loophole
Finance Minister Clayton Manness announced plans to retroactively close a loophole in the Revenue Act. The changes, to take effect from February 16, would tax transfers by a portion of the amount that would be due if the entire title were transferred, targeting multiple small registrations to dodge the exemption for transfers under 30 000.

Angusville Hotel Destroyed by Early Morning Fire
Fire completely levelled the Angusville Hotel early Monday February 20 with four communities assisting. The blaze started in the basement and firefighters faced water shortages as mutual aid from Russell Inglis and Rossburn arrived. No guests were in the hotel. the building housed a restaurant and beverage room and will be a big blow to the small town.

Agri Rec Centre a Possibility for Rossburn Area
The Rossburn District Complex Committee studies a potential Agri Rec Centre for the Village and RM.
