Winners from Rossburn at the Angusville Mixed Bonspiel included J Olson skip with Don Stitt Jean Armstrong and Mrs J Carson first in Grand Challenge. Alex Cleland skip with S Pokropany M Kalyniuk Elaine Cleland placed third. Doug Joiner skip with W Mychasin C Lazaruk Mrs G Lazaruk took third in Third Event. Other skips entered but did not prize.
A reader urges residents to confine pet dogs at home to prevent rabies risk and attacks in town. The letter questions who enforces dog control and asks authorities to act before injuries occur, noting rabies reports in other towns and dogs in public places like the post office.
The Rossburn 4-H Sewing Sisters sent three rinks to Strathclair on January 27 with skips Marlene Crookshanks Janet Johnston and Gloria Kosteski. Members include Marlaine Brown Shirley Koleski Elaine Maryniuk Lorraine Scarrow Lorraine Yaskiw Alice Silewich Cheryl Scarrow Colleen Lazaruk. Miss Morrison visited the Rossburn group on February 6 to inspect samples.
Funeral services conducted Saturday at Rossburn United Church for Mrs. Sarah Young who died after a long illness in Brandon. Born April 2 1874 in Atwood Ontario she taught in Manitoba before marrying Alexander Young and settling near Rossburn. She leaves two daughters one son a sister eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren with pallbearers listed.

In the MAHA playoffs Erickson hosted Rossburn with Rossburn erupting for seven goals in the third period to take a 10-5 win. Heindle led Rossburn with two goals two assists, while Melnyk Parabee Forsythe Pritchard and Bell contributed multiple points in a cleanly played game.
A large crowd is expected at Rossburn Arena for the MAHA playoff second game as Rossburn hosts Erickson. Door prizes of five to twenty dollars will be awarded to the 100th, 200th, 300th and 400th customers.
Rossburn's Intermediate Club crushed Erickson 16 to 1 in the North Central League final game. Harold Slow returned in goal as Heindle led with 5 goals and 3 assists followed by Kowal with 3 goals and 4 assists. Parabec Seaton Miller Stewart Melnyk Pritchard and Cote contributed goals and helpers in the rout.
League standings (unofficial) show Rivers with 16 points, Griswold 15, Rossburn 11, Cardale 11, Erickson 4, Elphinstone 4. The club moved from last place with 1 point at Jan 13 to its current position at the halfway mark.
Mr and Mrs Metro Yarmey of Rossburn celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary on February 5. Both born in the Ukraine they settled in Rossburn district after marrying in a country church. They have four sons in Toronto one daughter two more in Detroit and one in Vancouver, fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Samuel Mitchell formerly of Rossburn died February 3 in Brandon at age 85. The funeral service was conducted at the Rossburn Pentecostal Church on Wednesday February 7 at 2 00 p.m. with burial in Rossburn Cemetery.
