The Rossburn Credit Union Society Ltd held its 4th annual meeting at the Legion Hall on February 5 with 22 members and 6 visitors. The board recommended a 4 percent share dividend and a 20 percent loan interest rebate, both unanimously adopted. Assets exceeded $11,000 with over $17,000 loaned in 1956.

January Hospital Aid Meeting Seeks Sewing Machine for Hospital
The Hospital Aid met at Mrs. J. Sherritt’s home with 13 members. Mrs. Jessie Caldwell led the meeting as the group, with two allied organizations, plans to purchase an electric sewing machine for the hospital. A Cotton Rag Drive is set for March 2. Meetings occur the last Monday each month at 8 p.m. The February gathering will be at Mrs. Anne Slon’s home.

Pioneer settler Dora Lepisczak dies at 77 in Rossburn
Mrs Dora Lepisczak nee Dutkawich died at home on February 4 at 5 25 pm. She was born August 20 1879 in Salt Austria and came to Canada 52 years ago settling northeast of Rossburn. Funeral at St Theresa Church February 6 followed by burial in Roman Catholic Cemetery.
