Heart Month drive boosts Manitoba Heart Foundation donations
Volunteers led by Linda Chegwin in Rossburn promote Heart Month to raise funds against heart disease and stroke. The campaign notes 3,000,000 Canadians affected, 86 cents of every dollar to research and education, and $1.9 million allocated last year to 33 Manitoba researchers.

The Pelly Trail School Division allows the Elphinstone gymnasium to be used by the Keeseekoowenin Band from 10:40 to 11:40 daily with conditions including equipment use, removal, proper footwear, supervision, and priority for Elphinstone Elementary. The board funds MST membership and approves several staffing, project, and travel requests and denials, including resignations and a bus contract name change.

Rossburn Council Hears on Safety Codes and Ambulance Funding
The Village of Rossburn held a council meeting on January 26 with Mayor Morley Kostecky and all councillors. Attendees from Manitoba Environment and Workplace Safety discussed the Workplace Safety Act and excavation practices and registration numbers for permits. The meeting also covered ambulance funding, a waiting room renovation, volunteer labour, and job development funding for 1987.
