Rossburn hockey exhibition draws large crowd

The Rossburn rink hosted an exhibition game before a big crowd. Thanks are due to Principal Wilson and volunteers who built the fence and ice facilities. The score was 8 to 6 in favor of Rossburn. Additional games followed with Oakburn Cubs defeating Rossburn Cubs 5 to 1, Vista Scout Troop beating Rossburn Scouts 6 to 3, and Rossburn Seniors defeating the Waynesco team 9 to 5.

Mears ist Harry Komber left for Brandon on a business trip. A farewell party was held for Clement Derlago at his mother's home on Tuesday January 24. Clement departed for embarkation leave to the east coast. Miss Lucy Berezi left for Winnipeg after a holiday with her parents. John Magdaniuk reported a frost damaged car motor due to forgotten drainage. Lloyd Ritler left for Fort William after a month with relatives.

The Rossburn Agricultural Society will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday the 7th at 2 pm in the Club Room. good attendance is urged. On the 60th wedding anniversary Mr and Mrs Walter McIntosh will host friends Monday Feb 5 from 3 to 5 pm. Mr and Mrs J G Stitt traveled to Fork River Sunday. Msg A Brothers accompanied them to Grandview. Mrs R Stewart of Calgary visited her brother W Coughlan for several days.

Lawrence Urbanowki Returns Home After Overseas Service

The many friends of Lawrence Urbanowki are pleased to see him again when he arrived home Friday from overseas after being badly wounded. He will be home for a month before returning to Winnipeg for further medical treatment.
