Lions Christmas Concert in Rossburn Delights Community
A capacity crowd of about 500 attended the Rossburn Lions Club Christmas Tree event at the Rossburn Town Hall on December 21. The program included music skits and drills with Santa Claus awaited by children. About 400 bags of treats were prepared. 325 were distributed with 75 remaining for the Lizard Point Reserve. Net proceeds of 35.95 were directed to the Community Service Fund.

Mixed freight train delayed by derailment near Vista
One car of a mixed freight train heading to Neepawa derailed at Mile 69.5 about 2½ miles east of Vista at 6:30 a.m. The incident damaged nearly a mile of railway ties but a work crew repaired the line and the train resumed service by 4:00 p.m. Damage was otherwise minor.
