Oakburn MFA Annual Meeting Sees 100 in Attendance
The Oakburn Manitoba Farmers Union held its annual meeting on Wednesday December 15 with about 100 members and visitors present. The year end balance shows a surplus of 212.64 and total paid up members reach 245 for the new year. Harry Boychuk ends a four year term and receives a black bill fold. Wm. J. Shwaluk becomes president with John Muzy=lowski as vice president. Board members include Lena Nychek, Peter Migas, May Shwaluk, Peter Hrytsak and Mike Peleshok. Phyllis Tutkaluk is secretary-treasurer and Mike Peleshok auditor. Reports on the provincial convention and Crop Insurance hearings were given, and a five dollar donation to the Tour of India fund was approved. The meeting closed with lunch.

Good Attendance At Sunday School Xmas Pageant
A large congregation attended the United Church Sunday School on Sunday morning as the Pageant directed by Mr. Alston the Kindergarten Class Mrs Williamson's Class and The Mission Band performed. A play Silent Night followed and candy bags were handed out to all attendees.

Mrs Armstrong Celebrates 95th Birthday
Mrs Mary Armstrong marked her 95th birthday with many friends and relatives visiting to offer wishes. She recently spent three months in bed with a broken hip and now sits in a wheelchair. A bouquet of mums gifts and cards were received as she thanked neighbors for their support.
