A Rossburn town event offers a 1 30 p m film for children with Santa arriving by helicopter at 3 45 p m across from Slons Garage. He will distribute treats to all the children attending.
The Ukrainian Catholic Women's League held its annual meeting on December 6 with Fr Lehky chairing and 19 members present. The 1966 report shows 39 paid members, minutes adopted, and a paid-up year-end. Activities included socials, bake sale, bingo fundraisers, and a planned January 13 meal and hospital gift program.
Dominion Bureau of Statistics figures show the Rural Municipality of Rossburn dropping from 1499 residents in 1961 to 1278 in 1966 while the Village of Rossburn grew from 591 to 629. Nearby communities show modest gains: Birtle 846 to 852, Binscarth 456 to 478, and Erickson 531 to 532.

Wednesday evening bingo awards listed winners and payouts. Notable prizes include ties at 25.00 to Mrs. Pete Mychasin and Teddy Shmyr and 15.00 to Steve Mychasin and Mrs. Tony Yuskow, among others across Angusville and Russell locations.
A Fishing Lake Centennial Committee meeting on December 8 at the Municipal Office approved naming the lake Fishing Lake as Rossman Lake. George Phelps won the naming contest with 12 members present and funds for the Centennial Grant reportedly paid.
The UCY meeting began with a prayer by Rev. J. Lehky. Fifteen members attended as Wayne Glushka moved and Phyllis Hrubeniuk seconded to approve the minutes. Attendees plan Confession and Communion on January 6 and some members will carol. next UCV meeting on December 19.
Rossburn hosts Gris on December 20 at Rossburn Arena in the only home league game this month. Shoal Lake visits December 28 after a trip to Elphinstone. Rossburn won 5-3 at Shoal Lake last Friday, then lost 10-4 to Birtle on Saturday. Brandon Red Caps defeated Rossburn 17-11 on Tuesday.

At a Rossburn Curling Club executive meeting the Centennial Bonspiel was rescheduled to start January 16 1967. The Bonspiel Committee approved the one week earlier date change for the event.
An invitational Christmas party is planned for December 16 in the Elementary School Auditorium. Attendees must have an invitation. A strong turnout is expected and curling games have showcased good sportsmanship and competition. The halls display festive art as Christmas nears.
Mike Werbowski of Rossburn joined 68 Manitoba dealers in a mass drive away of 102 new International trucks from the International Harvester plant in Chatham Ontario. The convoy traveled via Windsor and Detroit to Winnipeg with Ontario police providing escort and safety.
