Community Snowball Bingo Supper at Sandy Lake Hall
Friday December 8 at 9 p.m. at the Community Hall Sandy Lake hosts bingo with a cash jackpot. Santa visits the Coop Store on Saturday December 16 from 2 to 5 p.m. bringing a treat for children. bring youngsters.

Phillip Coulson aged 80 of Newdale Manitoba died November 7 1967 in Erickson Hospital He was born November 25 1887 in Kudzynee Western Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in June 1902 He married Teenie Shindhuk November 19 1913 The couple farmed at Sandy Lake until retirement in 1952 He is survived by his wife two sisters a brother five daughters three sons twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren Funeral services were in Russo Greek Orthodox Church with Rev Mosevchuk officiating Burial followed in the church cemetery Pallbearers named include Steve Derhak Peter Desiatnyk Lorne Shindruk Ted Coulson Sadiey Shindruk and Ernie Rystephanuk.

Harry Zurbyk dies at Ninette Sanatorium aged 80
Former Ukraine native arrived in Canada in 1907 and lived in Kenora before homesteading near Elphin. Survived by two sons Nick and Tony and two daughters Carrie Waytowich and Katherine Kolinsky, with 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral at Ukr. Catholic church in Elphinstone on Dec 6 with prayers Dec 5. Rae's Funeral Home handled arrangements.
