Rural Municipality Rossburn Council Adopts 1961 Financials
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn met in council with Keeve M J Sotas and four other councillors present. They confirmed the minutes, adopted the November 30 1961 financial report, and approved a 50 percent grant application up to 1000 to fund snowplowing on main roads and school bus routes for 1961 62. They also urged hire of government snowplowing equipment if municipal plows fall short and appointed Reeve Alex Cleland to the Bird to Shoal Lake Health Unit Advisory Board.

Santa Claus Parade in Rossburn a Great Success
The Rossburn Lions Club hosted the first Santa Claus Parade on a bitterly cold Saturday afternoon drawing large crowds from town and neighbors. About 350 children 10 and under received candy as floats choirs and a Bethlehem scene impressed attendees. Santa announced plans to return next year and the Lions thanked local businesses for support.

At year end, Home economists rate clubs on project work, Achievement Day, meeting reports, community activities, and demonstrations. The Rossburn Sewing Sisters posted 80 90 percent. Seven speakers gave talks at Career Night in the school auditorium on December 8. The program was enjoyed by all.
