Ukrainian Orthodox Church to Mark 75th Anniversary in Rossburn
In 1980 the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God in Rossburn Manitoba will mark its seventy fifth anniversary with a celebration on Sunday August 24 1980. A short history of the congregation is in preparation and organizers request photos and information from past members or families to include in the publication due by February 15 1980 addressed to Mr. Metro Belbas or Rev Fr M Skrameda.

4-H Speaking Finals Held At Rossburn Collegiate
A lively evening at Rossburn Collegiate on Wednesday November 28 concluded the 4-H Public Speaking finals with twelve speakers from Russell Roblin clubs. Judges were G Bayly Rev Ken Stright and Olga Varish. Wendy Tibbatts won the Senior Toastmaster Trophy and the Champion Ribbon, with Jack ie Pizzy Reserve Champion.

Greek Orthodox ladies meet monthly Ukrainian church notes 1980 officers
The Rossburn Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church ladies held their annual meeting at Mrs Belbas home on December 4 with 13 members and one visitor. Minutes and treasurer reports were read and officers for 1980 were elected including President Steffie Belinski and 1st Vice Pres Lena Tanasychuk. The next meeting is February 5 at 7 30 p m at Phyllis Kurzhaba’s home. New members are welcome. A Christmas carol closed the gathering with lunch.

Agribition Champion Full Promise 3 WEG 18K Grand Champion
Full Promise 3 WEG 18K, an agribition champion at the 1979 Canadian Western Agribition in Regina, was named Grand Champion Chianina Female. The junior yearling is owned by Green's Chianina Enterprises of Elphinstone. It also earned Junior Champion honors from judge Marshall Copithorne of Calgary, Alberta.
