Manitoba funds prostate brachytherapy program expansion
Health Minister Dave Chomiak announced funding to CancerCare Manitoba for a prostate brachytherapy program using encapsulated radioactive seeds. The initiative, costing 769400 annually plus 573000 for equipment, aims to offer less invasive outpatient treatment with fewer side effects, reducing hospital visits and wait times for eligible Manitobans. The program is expected to begin early next year.
