The Manitoba Taxation Branch will mail motor vehicle bills in early January 1954 instead of late November. This provides motorists an extra grace period over Christmas. Drivers may mail payments with cheques, visit the Winnipeg agency, or use local agencies to file.
October proved dire for Manitoba driving with 1,188 accidents, up more than 300 from the previous year. Fatalities fell slightly to 12, injuries rose to about 247, while Winnipeg and suburbs showed large jump in incidents, prompting calls for a coordinated highway safety program and noting rising suspensions.

The wedding is set for Saturday December 26 at 2 30 pm in Rossburn United Church. An open reception follows at the bride’s home with all guests invited.
