Six one bedroom units in Foxwarren opened at the Seniors Leisure Centre. The $235,000 project is funded 75 25 by CMHC and Manitoba Housing with operating subsidies to keep rents affordable. Manitoba Housing led development and will manage the property.
Twenty four teachers and one assistant from Swan Valley Fort Labosse Pelly Trail and Birdtail River divisions attended a five day math workshop at Birtle Elementary School August 22 to 26. Taught by Marilyn Bernard the course introduced the Math Their Way method using concrete materials to teach number concepts and problem solving for kindergarten to grade two with extensions into higher grades. Participants paid 125 dollars each while kindergarten teachers were funded by the division Early Childhood Development Fund.
After near zero temperatures, the week should bring summertime highs around 25 C with mainly sunny skies. Southerly winds at 25 to 35 kmh in the afternoons, low precipitation chance, and overnight lows near 5 C. Overall an excellent week for harvest with favorable conditions.
