Tokar Chosen as CCP Candidate for Russell Provens
At the CCP convention for Russell Auglith province M Tokar of Rossburn was chosen as the forth coming election candidate. Three names were considered with Heddie Pedie and Jack Pedell among them. Pedell withdrew and Tokar won the majority. Myron Feeley MLA Canora Sask spoke on provincial government actions.

A reception followed at the bride’s parents home then the couple left for Clear Lake for a honeymoon. they will reside in Salt coats.

A birthday gathering at Mrs Sarah Crookshanks’s home with family visiting from Winnipeg and Russell. Guests included Calvan Sheldon Brown and Raymond Bowcott. several returns from overseas were noted and a scholarship recipient announced for Rossburn High School.
Vista school reopens with Miss Kacher as principal
Vista school resumed Monday with Miss Kacher of Whitemouth appointed principal and Mrs Johnson continuing in the Junior room. Miss Kacher arrived by bus Saturday. Mr. and Mrs Butler’s daughters from Selsgirth are visiting grandparents D. McDonald this week. Misses M and A Hay and E tit motored to Selsgirth Thursday to visit Mrs B Rogers. A quilt donated by Mrs D A McDonald was finished last Wednesday. The next RC quilt-ty will be held in the hall September 12. Despite the war finishing Europe and Britain still need quilts and apparel. Church will hold morning services next Sunday with S S at 10:30 and service at 11.

Mrs Sam Samaniuk left on Tuesday morning for home in Sudbury after vacationing here. Mr Steve Boydock returned to Winnipeg on Tuesday for medical treatments. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Walter Vatler at Sacred Heart Hospital Russell. Roads are well passable through Riding Mountain National Park. Residents visited relatives in Grandview district. Carl Maydaniuk and Martin are building a house for Frank Maydaniuk in the district.
