Manitoba expands Wildlife Management Areas adding 27 200 hectares
Natural Resources Minister Al Mackling announced 27 200 hectares of new wildlife lands. Eleven new Wildlife Management Areas cover 20 400 hectares, with 6 800 hectares added to 12 existing areas. Proven Lake area near Riding Mountain will protect a large marsh for waterfowl and muskrat production, expanding habitat with Ducks Unlimited involvement.

Rossburn Home Hardware Changes Hands
Beth and Dennis Oliver of Angusville purchase Scarrow's Home Hardware in Rossburn and rename it Rossburn Home Hardware. The store will keep all household goods with hours 8 00 A M to 6 00 P M Tuesday to Saturday. The Sciarrow family exits after 24 years and moves to Winnipeg.

Village Rossburn Council Advances Grant-In-Aid Roadway Additions
The Rossburn village council met August 9 with Mayor Louis Kurchaba presiding. They planned to ask the Manitoba Department of Highways to add Arena Road and the remaining Victoria Avenue West segment to the grant-in-aid street system. By-Law No 669 for parallel parking on Manitoba Avenue and By-Law No 671 to sell lands to Jean Industries were read and passed. The village will end its financial contribution to the Community Secretary’s wages on August 31, 1984. Accounts were approved: General 33029.87, Utility 8051.71, Total 41081.63.
