Funeral Rites for John Sidoryk
John Sidoryk aged 57 of Neepawa died August 5 after illness. He was born March 14 1902 on the family farm and married Katie Prodan in 1926. Survived by wife, two sons Paul and Adam, a daughter-in-law and one grandchild, six sisters, two brothers, and parents. Funeral services were held August 7 at the Ukr Union church in Lakedale with interment at Lakedale cemetery.

Mrs Gertrude Woods 71 died August 19 at Hamiota Hospital after a long illness. Born May 31 1888 in Ontario she moved west with her parents in the 1890s. Survived by six daughters one son and multiple siblings. Funeral Saturday at 2 pm from Rossburn Pentecostal Church with Rev John Coughlin officiating. burial in Rossburn Cemetery. Pallbearers named. Arrangements by McConnell Bros Hamisota.

Rossburn Village Council Meeting Minutes August 18 1999
The Rossburn Village Council met on August 18 1999 with Mayor Earl Moffat presiding and all councillors present. The minutes were read and confirmed, the financial statement adopted, and a Constable report noted 75 dollars in disorderly conduct fines and 4 dollars in traffic fines. An amendment to the licensing by law was passed and the council set attendance rates for the Birtle firm. The council supports the rural municipality’s request for 4 highway south of essbur to No 4 highway per the village resolution of November 18 1958. Bills were paid and council adjourned to reconvene September 15.

Contractor Wins Rossburn Detachment Quarters Bid
Local MP Nick Mandziuk announced that Justice Minister Davey Fulton approved awarding the Rossburn Manitoba detachment quarters to Harry Komhyr for 35368 dollars. Five higher tenders were submitted. The site was bought from Harry Bilinski for 1000 dollars. The building will provide married quarters on two floors with living room dining room kitchen and a garage for a three man detachment.
