Obituary for Wasyl Koroscil of Sandy Lake
Wasyl Koroscil 63 of Sandy Lake died suddenly at Strathclair on August 4. Born in Western Ukraine he came to Canada in 1900 and married Annie Skotlas. He farmed north of Sandy Lake and service was held at Ukr Greek Catholic Church. Interment followed at the local cemetery. He is survived by his wife and 14 children and many relatives. Raginski Funeral Home handled arrangements.

George Hlagy aged 71 of Rossburn died suddenly on Saturday August 10. Born in the Ukraine he came to Canada in 1912, lived in Ottawa then Rossburn from 1915. Survived by wife Daisy two sons John and Darcy three daughters Nellie Kathleen Ella ten grandchildren and brothers Harold and Fred. Funeral at St Elie Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church Rossburn August 13 with prayers August 12 at Ukrainian People's Home. Interment Glen Elmore.

Rural Council Holds Regular Meeting
The Rural Municipality of Bossburn council met on August 13 1963 in the council chambers with Reeve Alex Cleland and five councillors present. They confirmed last meeting minutes, adopted the July 31 1963 financial report, and readied By Law No 875 to dissolve Birdtail 1265 and transfer lands to Rossburn 2358 for Education Minister approval. A $10 grant was approved for the Agricultural Memorial Museum of Manitoba and 2500 was authorized to Kane Equipment Limited for a Snogo Blower and truck with 500 to be paid after a mechanic’s check. The council hired Manitoba land surveyor Bruce Balchen for road diversions and asked Public Works to retain the old PTH 45 location until the new highway is completed within Rossburn. Last month’s total was 4495.40 and the meeting adjourned to September 10 1963.

Local Golf Course In Good Playing Shape
The Rossburn Golf Course at Fishing Lake is open for recreation with a scenic nine holes and well maintained fairways. Volunteers and caretaker John Klym have the course in excellent condition and visiting golfers are welcome to play at the Fishing Lake resort northeast of Rossburn. A Kindergarten meeting is set for Monday August 26 at 8:30 p.m. at Mrs. Boles' home. registration by phone is requested.

Sam Chicheluk of Rossburn died at his residence at age 67. Born in Western Ukraine in 1896 he immigrated to Canada and married Mary Derhack. Funeral services were held at the Ukr. Greek Catholic Church in Rossburn with Rev. Lehky officiating. He leaves Mary, two daughters Nellie Kolt and Anne Reynolds, six sons Matt Adam Bill Elmer Sterling and Steve, ten grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.

Nick Peech age 57 son of the late Harry and Dora Peech of Oakburn died at home on Friday August 16. He farmed northwest of Oakburn and is survived by brothers Mike John Steve and sisters Anne Tennie Nellie of various Manitoba towns.
