Marijuana Seizure in Rossburn Highways Check
Two Gimli men were charged after about 2 pounds of marijuana were found in the back of a half ton truck during a routine patrol on Highway 45 near Angusville. They appeared in Brandon Police Court and were remanded until September 14. The narcotics were bound for Saskatchewan with a street value near $2000.

Summer recreation report from Ressburn notes
A summer recreation column recalls August events from Camp Mani and Rossman Lake. 14 youths joined trips, with thanks to Louis and Phyllis Kurchaba Orest Smychnik and Larry Perchaluk for timely bus arrivals and to partners who organized cabin support and activities. The ladies fastball season ended August 10 with plans to face RCMP this Sunday. The writer thanks many community members for support and concludes with upcoming retirement from newspaper work.
