Parkland Harvest Festival returns next weekend drawing crowds from Rossburn and nearby communities to Rossburn and Rossman Lake. Events include a Friday night outdoor bingo and teen dance, Saturday gymkhana rodeo display agricultural exhibits, machinery shows, senior tea, market and a hoedown cabaret, and Sunday fastball, canoe races, an air show, and golf championships.

Showery weather over the past days brings relief after a four week dry spell. Gardens suffered as rain fell Thursday morning by .39 percent, with Rossburn recording a high of 82 and a low of 46.
Sears Order Office Grand Opening at Rossburn
The new Sears Catalogue Sales Office in Hedley's Store on Rossburn Mountain Road opened Tuesday August 10 attracting 300 to 400 visitors. Two $25 gift certificates were awarded to Raymond Seaton and another winner.

Thirtieth Wedding Anniversary Observed
Mr and Mrs Wm Lazaruk celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at Oakburn Manitoba on July 10 with a benediction by Father Borys at Holy Eucharist Church followed by supper at the Parish Hall. Relatives and friends prepared the meal and guests danced the evening away. The couple have one daughter three sons and two granddaughters with out of town guests from several cities including Montreal Ottawa St Catharines Hamilton Dryden Winnipeg Minnedosa Dauphin Brandon Inglis Uranium City Edmonton Sparwood and Tsawwassen BC.

Among 5 945 in attendance for the Sacred Service Assembly at the Winnipeg Convention Centre from July 8 to 11 were 13 members of the Rossburn Congregation. Gilmar spokesman said it was the first time the center was used by the Witnesses. Delegates praised air conditioning seats and acoustics.
