Mervin Lloyd Crookshanks 67 died suddenly at Rossburn Hospital on July 27 1966. Born in Hawksville Ontario 1899 he moved to Manitoba at age seven and farmed before retiring seven years ago. Survived by two sisters Mrs Clair Palmer and Mrs Chas Brown with services at Rossburn Knox United Church July 29 conducted by Rev G Fulfora. Interment Rossburn cemetery. Braendle's Funeral Home in charge.

Centennial seeks lake name with $10 prize at Rossburn
The Centennial Committee and Centennial Project at Fishing Lake seek a new name for the lake. A $10 prize, donated by The Chalet in Rossburn, will be awarded for the best name with a short explanation. Submit entries to Centennial Secretary Otto Elverson before September 30 1966.

Wedding Bells for Donna Hamilton and Marvin Anderson
Donna Ann Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hamilton of Vista, married Marvin Ross Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Anderson of Libau, Manitoba, in a July 23 ceremony at Shoal Lake United Church. The list of Rossburn Fair Prize Winners has been received from the Secretary but cannot be published until next week due to a heavy carry over of news.
Sewer and Water Extension to Proceed in Village
Extensions to Rossburns sewer and water system to include King Street and Fifth Street will proceed. The $18,000 project, assigned to C. and C. Construction of Brandon, covers about 2300 feet and serves roughly 20 households. Work to start end of August and finish by end of September, weather permitting.

The Rural Municipality of Rossburn council met August 9 in the council chambers. Attending were Reeve Alex Cleland and councillors Morley Brown Wm Hyra Mike Gawryluk and Joe Dnistransky. The group approved minutes and a financial report for July and appointed Hugh Armstrong as arbitrator on a petition to dissolve Lakedale SD 1690 and Ang us 1487 to form a consolidated district. The meeting adjourned to September 13 at 9 a.m.
