A Centennial bingo night on Main Street Rossburn drew fourteen games on July 27. The $1000 jackpot was won by Rose Stefanuk of Rossburn Adelle Mychasin of Vista and Olga Sabesky of Angusville who shared the prize.
A large crowd gathered July 31 at the Waywayseecappo Indian Reserve gym for Native Day. Dancers in feathered attire performed dances such as Shake, Hoop, Horse, and Celebration while elders led prayers and women sang in traditional ceremonies marking a vibrant community celebration.
At a July 31 nomination meeting in Minnedosa Abe Suderman a Rossendale potato farmer was declared Liberal candidate for Portage Marquette. He was unopposed and urged reform of federal agriculture including a cost plus scheme. Lloyd Axworthy attended and spoke on the Crow Rate as Suderman joins three rivals for the riding.
