A meeting is set for Friday August 10 at 6 30 p m in the Club Room to form a committee for the forthcoming Coarse Grain plebiscite. All interested are urged to attend and take responsibility, with emphasis on Mr Palmer handling the matter.
In loving memory of a dear husband and father Wm Young who died August 11 1948. Three years have passed since you were called away. You suffered much and murmured not. We watched you through the day and cried and prayed that your life would not be taken. Ever remembered by wife Mary and two sons Robert and John with seven grandchildren.

Manitoba Farmers Union president Jake Schultz announced that the income tax amendment expanding deductions to include farm dues now covers dues paid by farmers to their farm organizations. He argued farmers are finally on equal footing with big business and urged joining the Farmers Union. Schultz noted Alberta Farmers Union backed the current coarse grains marketing system in Canada at a recent Edmonton meeting.
Twenty nine entries were received for the Cream Competition at the Rossburn Creamery on July 12. The judging was done by Geo Bell and Grant McLeod of the Dairy Branch, with prize displays at the Rossburn Fair on July 31. Winners include Sam Brown Vista first with 97.8 points and prize of $10, Charles Hacikowski Rossburn second with 97.7 points and $8, Mrs Gordon Taylor Rossburn third with 97.5 points and $6, Peter S. Pushka Solsgirth fourth with 97.3 points and $4, and Mrs John Na Angusville fifth with 97.1 points and $2.
An expansive Rossburn Fair showcased superior livestock including horses cattle swine and sheep with ideal weather and about 3500 attendees. Highlights included Neepawa Lions Band, Doc Bolton’s Palomino Trick Horse and Paul Bunyan act, plus robust prize lists across horses hogs and sheep and a mid way ride accident requiring hospital care.
