On April 15 two break and enter reports were received at seasonal residences in the Olha district with articles stolen from each. A Rossburn village report identified a suspicious person as an out of town salesperson. An attempted break and enter on Manor Drive in Rossburn is under investigation.
The Lac du Bonnet council resolution repeats the stance that education is a universal need and should be funded with equal priority to health care. It argues that municipal mill rates should reflect total funding, notes increased education levies burdening taxpayers, and urges funding mechanisms beyond land and building assessments. Reeve John Mitchell chaired the Rossburn meeting Apr 18.
Tuesday's outlook shows variable clouds and northerly winds at least 20 km hr. Day temperatures hover near 2 to 5 C with overnight lows at -3 to -6 C. By midweek, highs reach 10 to 11 C under sunny skies, with cooler nights below freezing and no precipitation expected for the rest of the month.
A special meeting on April 19 approved an emergency plan for the Village and RM of Rossburn. Attendees included Emergency Co ordinator Harold Slow Fire Chief Larry Sidoryk village representatives Morley Kostecky Shirley Kalyniuk Bob Hunter Leonard Mackeden ski and A M representatives John Mitchell Leonard Sitko Elmer Sawchuk and Ernie Antonow. The plan was prepared by the Manitoba Emergency Measures Organization and reviewed jointly by council.
