Easter Gladness Devotional Topic at Rossburn Church Women
The Rossburn United Church Women met April 10 in the church lower hall. Lorna and Olive Veitch led a devotional on Easter Gladness, celebrating Jesus victory over death. Minutes and treasurer reports were approved. a $50 donation was allocated to the Cross Cultural Summer Bible School Program. Plans for a May 12 Mother's Day Tea and Bake Sale were made. Two letters from an adopted boy were read, along with updated rates. The treasurer will cover the additional 1979 tuition after paying it. Brochures for the 1979 Women’s Conference in Brandon (May 4–6) were received, as was Camp Wasaga’s annual report and appeal for aid. The meeting closed with Mizpah Benediction.

Asphalt paving contract for Riding Mountain Parkway awarded
The Honorable Andre Ouellet announced that Mulder Brothers (1975) Limited of Winnipeg won a 1,201,495 contract for asphalt paving on the Riding Mountain Parkway in Riding Mountain National Park. The work, from mile 15.86 to 33.7, must be finished by August 1979.

Border Buddies CB Club Hold Jamboree
The Border Buddies CB Club held its annual winter jamboree in Silverton Manitoba on April 1. Thirty six people attended as Jim Ament led the curling team from Langenburg with teammates from Manitoba and Saskatchewan while prize draws rewarded Vern Klimack and others. The event featured games for children, meals, and socializing with a focus on CB radio club aims and emergency communications readiness.
