The Rural Municipality of Rossburn Council met April 12 1966 with Reeve Alex Cleland and councillors in attendance. They adopted the March 31 1966 financial report, read By Law 901 dissolving Glen Elmo SD 2194, and set the 1966 tax levy at 60.3 mills total for uncontrollable and controllable purposes, with By Law 902 read for final passage.
Angusville residents welcomed visiting relatives over the Easter weekend. Peter Pradniuk and Louise from Winnipeg toured town and stopped in Rossburn to see his parents before returning home. Miss Gladys Slashinski teaching at Birch River vacationed with her parents. Mr and Mrs Maryon Gallant of Prince George British Columbia joined relatives in Angusville for the holiday.
Easter weekend brought little sun and cool temperatures. Insurance rates may rise as cars take a beating this week. Rossburn Collegiate opens April 16 and Melnyk's Garage April 23. The Rossburn Lions Club thanks supporters of the Ice Carnival and praises volunteers, buyers, judges, and the Mothers who made costumes. A Chamber of Commerce is urged for Rossburn. Auction sales and farm equipment sales loom. Red Cross volunteers raised 346.87, with 345 sent to headquarters. Window envelopes prompt a pun about pain.
Lawrence Parobec of Angusville acquired the late Vernon Falloon’s Shorthorn herd in Fox Warren. The purchase includes eight Selburn Silver Coin daughters and seven Kelburn Earl daughters. Seven Falloon cows are bred to the grand champion Shorthorn Bull from the 1966 Brandon Bull Sale.
Mr and Mrs Booker and family of Snowflake Mrs Eaton of Brandon and Elmer Shaw of Douglas spent the I D Andrew event with family and friends from multiple towns.
