Former Rossburnite Milton Stitt Buried in Rossburn

Funeral service for Milton Howard Stitt aged 61 9 months was held at the United Church February 6 with Pastor Eaton officiating. He died April 1 in London Ont hospital. Interment at Rossburn Cemetery. Surviving family includes mother Mrs J J Stitt three sisters six brothers and numerous relatives.

Don’t Destroy Spawning Fish Warns Manitoba Official

Fish and Game Director G. W. Malaher cautions it is unlawful and wasteful to kill fish during spawning in Manitoba rivers. He urges letting spawning complete to sustain future catches, noting break up spears and dumping fish harm spawning, with angling season for pike pickerel perch sauger goldeye mooneye opening May 13.

Miss Joyce Sitko spends Easter vacation with her parents Mr and Mrs Sitko. Mrs Martin of Glenella visits her parents Mr and Mrs W H Halliday. Mrs W Miller and Helen visit in Winnipeg with the former's brothers. Mr Ernie Chesney of Brandon spends Easter weekend with his parents. Mr and Mrs A Smith and children visit at the home of Mr and Mrs W J Hamilton. Reita Stitt visits relatives Leckie family and Alison. Marlene and Valetta Hamilton stay with Mr and Mrs A Smith at McNutt. J Brown returns from Portage hospital with son Walter. Mr and Mrs H Hamilton drive to Russell. Miss Glasman visits relatives there. D Atkinson, M Hay and Willis Stitt travel from Winnipeg for Easter weekend with local families. Ladies Aid and W M S meet at Mrs H Hamilton's. Easter programme led by Mrs M D Hamilton. a quilt made for W M S supply. Next meeting will be at Mrs L Hamilton’s home.

Weekend Fires Destroy Two Farm Homes

On Sunday April 9 the Charney farm log house in Marco district burned completely with most main floor contents saved. Origin of the fire is unknown. The next day the Gumieny Dutchuk farm frame house burned entirely while the residents were away. none of the contents were saved.
