Rossburn Silver Creek Heritage Society forms in Manitoba
An organizational meeting on March 6 formed the Rossburn Silver Creek Heritage Society with President Lawrence Reles and other officers. Silver Creek may join. Seven government positions relocated to southwest Manitoba
The Manitoba government moves seven full time civil service jobs from Winnipeg to Boissevain with about a quarter of a million in payroll. Finance Minister Manness and others call it a step to decentralize and bring services closer to residents south of Highway 2 and west of Carman. Four Finance positions, including three compliance officers, plus three Natural Resources posts will be filled this fall, with some transfers and many vacancies filled via open competition. Renovations to the former Land Titles Office begin in early May.
