Health authority plans multi-day strategic sessions and capital projects
The Marquette Health Authority board held a two day planning session on March 25 and 26 focusing on programs finances capital planning HR and the Community Health Needs Assessment for the Marquette Region. A second session is planned for April 27 and 28 to review the draft CHNA and develop stakeholder consultation. An April 1 special meeting addressed timely concerns. An ad hoc Capital Project Committee was formed to guide large capital projects including fire system upgrades at Russell Health Centre and Carberry Personal Care Home relocations and the Shoal Lake Hospital replacement with a multi use unit at Morley House. The board reviewed space needs for the region office and is pursuing additional space. Manitoba Healthcare acknowledged the resignation of the First Nations Board member and will recruit a replacement.
